Wayne Harbin began his career in 1968 working with a builder and worked in the field for almost 20 years before he began Wayne Harbin Builder, Inc. in 1985. By being on the job site everyday, he learned how to do things the right way and carried this knowledge over into his business. The most important aspect of building to Wayne is quality. Each of the homes constructed by Wayne Harbin Builder is supervised carefully and backed by a one-year settlement and mechanical warranty.

Wayne Harbin Builder now includes Wayne’s sons Doug and Brad. They have joined the company and oversee operations in Williamsburg and Yorktown. Doug and Brad continue their father’s integrity in building and are now an integral part of the business. Exposure to many aspects of construction, as well as college degrees in construction management and biology, make Doug and Brad uniquely qualified to continue the family business of building custom homes.  They started HOME ENHANCEMENTS, the Remodel Division of Wayne Harbin Builder, Inc. when they saw a need for quality construction in additions and remodels.

Wayne Harbin Builder has also increased their solid reputation and the number of awards won through building quality into each of the homes. As the sole Southern Living Custom Builder Program member on the Peninsula, the company has grown in its ability to produce classic Southern designs and contemporary living arrangements.

The membership in the Southern Living Custom Builder Program sets Wayne Harbin Builder apart from other local custom builders. This program currently has 100 builders from the South and only one in each regional market, making the company the only member on the Peninsula. As a member, Wayne Harbin Builder has access to the exclusive portfolio of Southern Living House Plans, including more than 600 archived plans, with new plans added every year.

Across the Peninsula, Wayne Harbin Builder continues to build homes in a variety of price ranges and communities.
